FuelMap has no accounts, shows no ads, and does not track you. Your trips, fill-ups and vehicle details are stored only on your phone.
To calculate routes, prices and weather, the app sends the minimum necessary information to the services listed below. It never sends your trip history, your fill-up log, or anything that identifies you personally.
All of this stays on your phone and is deleted when you uninstall the app. None of it is uploaded anywhere.

You can delete trip history and fill-ups from inside the app, and reset all settings from Settings → Data.
FuelMap asks for location permission to:
Your location is never stored on a server and never shared with anyone. It is used on your device, and coordinates are sent to Google Maps Platform only to draw the map, calculate a route, or search for nearby places.
While a trip is being tracked, FuelMap runs a foreground service so Android does not suspend location updates when your screen locks. You will see a notification for as long as tracking is active. Tracking stops when you end the trip.
You can decline location permission. Search, cost estimates and country fuel prices all continue to work. Only automatic start points, live trip tracking and nearby stations are affected.
If enabled, FuelMap sends a daily tally of how often core features were used — for example “3 routes planned, 1 vehicle saved”.
It contains no identifier, no location, and no details of your routes or vehicles, and cannot be linked to you or to another day’s tally. It exists so we know which features are worth improving.
You can turn it off at any time in Settings → About.
In countries where no government publishes fuel prices, FuelMap can share the price per litre you enter when logging a fill-up, so other drivers in that country see realistic figures.
This is off by default and only happens if you turn it on.
When enabled, what is sent is: the price per litre, the fuel type, the country, and a location rounded to roughly one kilometre. What is not sent: your name, your vehicle, how much fuel you bought, how far you drove, or anything linking one report to another.

Google Maps Platform — receives coordinates and search text to provide maps, routes, place search, address lookup and elevation. https://policies.google.com/privacy
Open-Meteo — receives the approximate midpoint of a planned route to return weather conditions affecting the fuel estimate. No identifiers sent. https://open-meteo.com/en/terms
Frankfurter (European Central Bank rates) — receives only currency codes such as “EUR to USD”. No personal data. https://www.frankfurter.app
Supabase — hosts the public database of fuel prices and vehicle consumption figures. The app reads from it, and writes nothing about you beyond the optional items described above. https://supabase.com/privacy
Fuel prices come from official government sources, including the European Commission’s Weekly Oil Bulletin and the national price transparency systems of Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Australia. Vehicle consumption figures come from the European Environment Agency and the United States EPA.
FuelMap is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
